The collection management team is primarily responsible for care of the Cultural Environments collections, facilitating loans and cataloguing new acquisitions.
- Collection care involves preventative conservation, object movement and maintaining the collection management database.
Loans include both inward and outward loans and can be for exhibition or research purposes.
- Cataloguing new acquisitions is a formal process that allows objects to be entered into the State Collection.
- Other tasks are exhibition installations and demounts, facilitating public access to the collection and managing public enquiries.
Together our collection managers have many years of experience within the museum field and have worked in a variety of institutions. Their skills and qualifications encompass museum studies, archaeology, social history, art, anthropology, Aboriginal studies, geology and gemmology.
