9.30am – 4pm
  • Infantry weapons and equipment displays and personnel on hand to talk about the life of a soldier. Try on a soldier’s uniform. (1 RAR and 2 RAR)
  • Check out mines and booby traps, talk to real Army Engineers and find out what they do in the field and their tools of trade. (3 CER)
  • Go inside the signal tent for demonstrations of Army radio communications and get a chance to operate the equipment. (3 CSR)
  • See weapons and uniforms and hear stories of historic battles at the 3 RAR Historical Collection.
  • Check out Australian and enemy uniforms, photographs and other equipment at 2 RAR Historical Collection.
  • Historic military uniforms and weapons on display from the North Queensland Historical Re-enactment Society.
9.30am – 5pm
  • Try your hand at following the Camo Trail through the Museum – picking up clues as you go. (This self-led activity is available the front counter.)

10am – 12noon
  • Go undercover and get your face painted with real camo paint.

10am – 2pm
  • Learn how military uniforms and kit used by the Australian Army from the 1880s to World War II. (Presentation by Mr Barry Turnbull of the North Queensland Historical Re-enactment Society.)

  • Learn about the military art of Mr Ken McFadzen who was attached to 2 RAR and other units from late 1967 to 1968. See some of the original water-colours and charcoal works. (Presented by Corporal Twomey, 2 RAR Historical Collection)
