Dino-Rassic Park

These school holidays the Museum of Tropical Queensland has been re-imagined as a dinosaur wildlife park and is presenting real live dinosaurs and the team of scientists and keepers who look after them.

Meet dinosaurs from a lost world in the heart of the Congo:

  • Live presentations of Dinomite the Carnosaur
  • Daily keeper talks
  • Fossil preparation lab
  • Dino craft
  • Fossil dig pit

Enter the competition to name our new BABY DINOSAUR!

So, how did it all begin…?

Twelve months later a team of Museum cryptozoologists and palaeontologists departed on an expedition that would last an entire year.

What we found stunned the scientific community –a lost world, high on an isolated plateau, where species long thought to be extinct continued to survive.

A number of live dinosaur specimens were brought back from the plateau.

When the dinosaurs arrived in Townsville, a dedicated zoological team was established to research the new species.

We have researched techniques for dinosaur capture and restraint, general husbandry, dietary requirements, reproduction, training and specialist medicine.

After over a decade of work, the animals and their dedicated team are finally ready to meet the public, and Dino-rassic Park is now open to visitors…
