Every person who pays for entry between 19 September and 5 October will receive a Dino World Holiday FREE Pass so they can visit again for FREE.

One Friend's FREE Pass will be issued for each MyMuseum membership entry per day between 19 September and 5 October.

TEEN-T DINO SHOW
Weekdays, Monday 21 – Friday 25 September at 10:00am and 1:00pm
Meet our newest dinosaur creation, a teenager T. rex. He’s all skeleton, but moves fast! And he needs a name.

FOSSIL FUN
Weekdays, 21 - 25 September, 11am - 12pm, great for 5-12 years (Bookings required*)
Fossilised remains of creatures long extinct give clues as to how they lived. Create your own fossil casts to take home.

SENSATIONAL SKELETON CRAFT
Daily, Saturday 19 - Sunday 27 September, 9:30am – 3:00pm
Twist a pipecleanosaurus, glue a pastasaurus, make a moving dino skeleton, or paint to reveal the mystery fossil.

CONSTRUCTASAURUS
Daily, Saturday 19 - Sunday 27 September, 9:30am – 3:00pm
Gather a team to put together our giant 3D dinosaur skeletons.

DRESS-UP AS A DINOSAUR DAY
Wednesday, 23 September
Come dressed as your favourite dinosaur to be in the running for a great prize. Competition parade assembles at 10am.

THE DINOMITE SHOW

DINO CREATION LAB
Weekdays, 28 September – 2 October, 11am - 12pm, great for 5-12 years (Bookings required*)
What would it take to bring dinosaurs back to life? Have a go at creating a dinosaur. Make an insect in amber, extract real DNA and hatch your own dinosaur.

CRETACEOUS CRAFT
Daily, Monday 28 September - Monday 5 October, 9:30am – 3:00pm
Make a dino mask, create a trilobite, rub to reveal a fossil, or a pop-up Kronosaurus card.

CRETACEOUS CRUISE
Daily, Monday 28 September – Monday 5 October, 11am and 12noon
Join our tour guide on a paddle through time to the edge of the inland sea. Discover cretaceous creatures from the sea, land and air. Life Jackets provided.

WHAT'S ON IN BOTH WEEKS

PALAEO TALKS with JCU
Weekdays at 11:00am (20 minute talks)
Engaging daily talks from JCU palaeontologists. 

Mondays - A talk on the fossil crabs found in the Townsville region. You can even find them on Pallarenda beach! Presented by Todd Kane. 

Tuesdays - A talk about the origins of agriculture from an insect perspective. Discover more about the oldest fungus-farming termites! Presented by Christopher Todd.

Wednesdays - A talk about the evolution from dinosaurs to primates over 100 million years. Learn how small grains of dirt can tell big stories! Presented by Hannah Hilbert-Wolf.

Thursdays - A talk about dinosaur embryology and real organics in dinosaur bones from China. Debunking the myths of Jurassic World! Presented by Dr Eric Roberts.

Fridays - The first public talks about the recent discovery of a new human ancestor, Homo naledi, in the Rising Star Cave, South Africa. Hear about this history-changing discovery from the JCU scientists who led the team. Presented by Professor Paul Dirks (Friday 25 September) and Dr Eric Roberts (Friday 2 October). (This talk will go for 40 to 50 minutes.)

FOSSIL PREPARATION LAB
Weekdays, 11am – 2pm
See how fossils are prepared for study and display. What ancient animal will our volunteers uncover today?

MEET A PALAEONTOLOGIST
Weekdays, 12 – 1pm
Whether a serious dinophile or just curious, come to our special fossil corner to meet one of JCU’s palaeontologists. Check out real fossils, many collected from around Townsville, or bring one in to be identified. Sift through the rock material to see what you can find.

DINOSAUR DIG PIT
Every day at 9:30am – 3:00pm, all ages
What will you uncover in our ever popular dig pit? Adult supervision required.

DINO WORLD TRAIL
All day, every day, all ages
Our palaeo-geneticists have lost the equipment they need to create more dinosaurs. Help them find the missing objects around the museum.

PLAY-LAEONTOLOGY ZONE
All day, every day
Oodles of activities for the littlies, including special appearances by A-roar-a the baby hypsophilodontid (when she is not napping) and story time. Check the sign for times.

DESIGNER DINOSAUR STUDIO
All day, every day
If you could design your own hybrid dinosaur, what would it look like? Would it be a mix of dinosaurs? Would you add bits of other animals? Add your dinosaur creation to our design studio wall.
