Solar Eclipse Photography

This collection of spectacular eclipse images taken by astrophotographer Len Fulham is the perfect accompaniment to the solar eclipse scheduled to thrill North Queensland on 14 November 2012!

Len's interest in amateur astronomy began in the early 1960s and he has been an active observer ever since. A veterinary surgeon residing in Mount Isa, he helped found the Astronomy Group of Mount Isa and is curator of Moondarra Observatory.

Len has had astronomy articles and photographs published in amateur astronomy magazines and in 2002 completed a Graduate Certificate in Astronomy and was awarded the Centenary Medal for services to science and technology.

Eclipses are one area of astronomy that provide a challenge and inspiration as well as the opportunity to travel to otherwise unlikely destinations. In all Len has travelled to see 8 total solar eclipses and one annular eclipse and will be in Port Douglas this year to observe the total solar eclipse on the morning of 14 November.
