Crocodiles

Crocodiles are found in the waters of north Queensland.  There are two species, the large Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) and the smaller Freshwater Crocodile (Crocodylus johnstoni).  Both species have long snouts, short legs with webbing between the toes and long, laterally flattened tails.  There are bony plates embedded in the skin along their backs which form protective body armour.
