Permanent Exhibition Enchanted Rainforest Enchanted Rainforest is locally focused and inspired by the Paluma Rainforest in North Queensland. Built around an awe-inspiring recreation of a fig tree, the exhibition’s interactive displays teach visitors about the flora and fauna of a rainforest environment. It also includes information about the Indigenous land use of the forest and describes its special meaning to Indigenous peoples. FREE | From: 6 Dec 07

| Talk Discover More Talk A free talk, 'Biodiversity and Conservation on Magnetic Island', will be jointly presented by Lyndall Harvey, an Environmental Scientist and Dr Daniela Ceccarelli, a Marine Ecologist, both from C&R Consulting.
The talk will examine both the terrestrial and the marine biodiversity of Magnetic Island, the threats that species face and the measures being implemented for biodiversity conservation. | Holiday Activities Butterfly Magic School Holiday Program To celebrate the arrival of the new MTQ Ulysses butterfly mascot, the September/October school holiday program is all about butterflies!
The program is bursting with the usual holiday fun for children, including a self-led butterfly trail around the museum, led activities, daily screenings of A Bugs Life and a fascinating butterfly documentary, craft activities and daily appearances from our new Ulysses butterfly mascot!
