Permanent Exhibition Enchanted Rainforest Enchanted Rainforest is locally focused and inspired by the Paluma Rainforest in North Queensland. Built around an awe-inspiring recreation of a fig tree, the exhibition’s interactive displays teach visitors about the flora and fauna of a rainforest environment. It also includes information about the Indigenous land use of the forest and describes its special meaning to Indigenous peoples. FREE | From: 6 Dec 07

Visit the Museum of Tropical Queensland and see some of the most impressive mammals of the animal kingdom in our new Big Mammals display.

| Talk Discover More Talk - Ghosts of Giants The talk by Prof Chris Johnson, is part of the museum’s monthly Discover More series, will reveal the giant mammals of the past – creatures like the mammoths, giant deer and giant wombats of prehistory, which are now extinct.
Professor Johnson will explore the latest theories about why mammals grew to such extraordinary size in the past, and why they have since become extinct.
